No jargon, no runaround. Here's everything most patients want to know before their first visit β or their tenth.
Do you accept my insurance?+
We accept most major dental plans including Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, United Concordia, Guardian, and many more. Call us at (555) 248-3300 and Marcus will verify your specific plan before your first visit β no guessing.
How often should I get a cleaning?+
For most adults, every six months is right. Patients with a history of gum disease, higher cavity risk, or dry mouth may benefit from every three to four months. Dr. Whitmore will give you a personal recommendation after your first exam.
Do you see children?+
Yes β all ages welcome, from the very first tooth through adulthood. We recommend a child's first dental visit around age one or when the first tooth appears. We're known for making kids feel comfortable and leaving them with a genuinely positive association with the dentist.
I have dental anxiety. Can you still help me?+
Absolutely β and please tell us when you call or fill out your intake form. Dental anxiety is incredibly common and we take it seriously. We go slower, explain every step before doing it, and will stop at any point if you need a break. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for patients who want extra help relaxing.
What if I have a dental emergency?+
Call us right away at (555) 248-3300. We keep emergency slots open every day and will work to see you as quickly as possible β same-day appointments are often available for urgent situations. See our emergency dental care page for more information.
How long does a typical cleaning take?+
A routine cleaning and exam β including X-rays for new patients β takes about 60 to 75 minutes. Follow-up cleanings for existing patients are usually 45 to 60 minutes. We'll always let you know how long to plan for when you book.
Do you offer payment plans?+
Yes. For larger treatments, we can split costs across multiple appointments. We also accept CareCredit, a dental financing option that often includes 0% interest periods. Talk to Marcus when you call β we'll figure something out.
Does teeth whitening actually work?+
Professional whitening gets dramatically better results than anything over-the-counter β because the concentration of the whitening agent is much higher and applied correctly. Most patients see 4β8 shades improvement after in-office treatment. Results last 1β2 years with good maintenance. See our full whitening page for details.
